Assign a unique and vibrant color palette to each butterfly. This will make the entire group pop and create a stunning visual mosaic of color.
Color the background flowers and leaves with soft, muted tones or use a smudging technique to make them appear out of focus. This will push the butterflies forward and make them the star of the scene.
Use gentle gradients or blend two similar colors on the wings to suggest motion. Lighter strokes on the outer edges can make the wings look like they are fluttering.
With a very light-colored pencil (like a pale yellow or light blue), draw subtle 'whoosh' lines behind a few of the butterflies to enhance the sense of dynamic flight and energy.
